The Ryan is nestled in the heart of historic downtown Roanoke, proudly known as the Unique Dining Capital of Texas. This vibrant district is full of beloved restaurants, boutique shops, and a small-town charm that’s tough to replicate. While the building itself was constructed in 1998, it sits on land rich with history, dating back to 1881—the year Roanoke was founded alongside the Texas & Pacific Railroad. According to local lore, the town was named by a railroad surveyor longing to honor his hometown in Virginia. Over the years, this building has played a few roles—a printing press, then an office—before being purchased in 2023 by a Roanoke family who lovingly reimagined it into what it is today.
